School board elections and budget votes will take place on
Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

Qualified voters will vote only by absentee ballots for this election and budget vote.  The school district will send an absentee ballot with a postage paid return envelope to our registered voters as listed with the Westchester County Board of Elections.  If you are a registered voter with Westchester County Board of Elections, are a qualified voter of the District, and you do not receive a ballot by May 29th, 2020 please contact Cathy Maggi, District Clerk, at 914-934-7903 or cmaggi@pcrufsd.org.

Revised voting and election information 2020

On Friday, May 1, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an Executive Order No. 202.26 that modifies the rules under which school districts are to conduct the 2020 Annual Meeting for the election of school board members and budget votes.

Budget Hearing:

A Budget Hearing of the qualified voters of the Port Chester Rye School District, Westchester County, Port Chester, New York, will be held remotely on Thursday May 28, 2020.  A recording of the hearing will be available on the district web site.

Voting Date:

Notice of Vacancy on Board of Education 

The Port Chester Rye School District is seeking candidates to fill two (2) vacant seats on the Board of Education due to the expiration of the term of Anne Capeci and Thomas Corbia.  The seats are for a three-year term from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023.  

A school board candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years old, a qualified voter in the District and able to read and write.  They must be a resident of the District and cannot be employed by the District.  They also cannot live in the same household with a family member who is also a current member of the Board.

Due to COVID-19, nominating petitions have been suspended and individuals may self-nominate.  Individuals interested in running for the school board must submit their signed self-nomination form to the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020.  Forms shall state the name, address, and telephone number of the candidate.  Forms may be obtained and then submitted by emailing cmaggi@pcrufsd.org.   • Be 18 years of age by the date of the general, primary or other election in which you want to vote.
  • Live at your present address at least 30 days before an election.
  • Not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction.
  • Not claim the right to vote elsewhere.
