King Street Teacher Appreciation
Teachers, tacos and thank you’s!
Teacher Appreciation week was celebrated May 6-10 and on Friday, teachers at King Street School felt the love when they enjoyed a special lunch hosted by the school PTA.
“I am a happy teacher, this is my favorite food,” one educator said as she loaded up her taco with extra fixings.
Parked outside the school was a taco truck, where teachers could stop by and enjoy a variety of tacos cooked to order. Chicken, carnitas, cheese and veggie were all options. A nearby table offered several toppings, from hot sauce to a side of cactus salad. They also sipped on horchata, a spicy rice milk drink with cinnamon, nutmeg and more.
Their “dining room” was arranged by the front doors of the school where they enjoyed their meal al fresco.
The lunch is an annual event to show appreciation for the hard work teachers do on a daily basis.
