    Free Flu Shots

    Westchester County offers FREE flu shots for residents 3 years of age and older.   Register online or call (914) 955-5800 to schedule an appointment.  Flu shots will be given on October 25 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Westchester County Center, 198 Central Park Ave in White Plains.

  • Free Outdoor Movie Night on 9/15 @ 7:30pm

    Come watch "The Secret Life of Pets".   This free event will take place on Sept. 15 at 7:30 pm in St. Peter's Church Parking Lot / 19 Smith Street.  Bring your blankets and chairs.  (Event will be moved indoors in case of rain.)  See the attached flyer for more information,

  • County Offers Free Vaccines to Students

    Westchester County Department of Health encourages parents/guardians to speak with their health care providers to see what, if any, vaccines are needed for the next school year.  For students who are unable to receive vaccines from their healthcare provider, the county Department of Health may be able to offer vaccines. Parents should call the Department at 995-5800 to see if their child is eligible and to schedule an appointment at one of the convenient immunization clinics in either White Plains or Yonkers.

Head Start Pre-Kindergarten / Free for Port Chester Children

In partnership with Westchester Community Opportunity Program, the Port Chester Schools will offer up to 345 slots to a free, full day, Pre-Kindergarten program for children who:

  • Will be 4 years old by December 1, 2017
  • Are residents of Port Chester
  • Meet the established Federal and State income guidelines

The New York State Education Department and the Federal Government as the grant funding entities have established an income standard for families to be eligible for the Pre-K program.

In Pre-K, the children will build necessary social, emotional and academic skills, preparing them for Kindergarten through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Children with special needs are included. Each site offers classroom configuration options for working parents. 

The school day for ALL Pre-Kindergarten students is 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM and will run concurrent with the school district calendar.  Enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year is now closed.
