Port Chester stands to lose $1,677,836 in State aid under Governor Paterson's proposed budget.  We invite you to contact our NY State legislators by telephone, e-mail or letter to ask them to reject his proposal.

Budget season has begun. Unfortunately, given the States financial and political situation, there is much we still do not know regarding State aid except it is very likely to be significantly reduced, while the cost of mandates continues to rise. This will mean that the District must tighten its belt and find ways to reduce spending that have the least possible impact on students.

I hope you will participate in the budget process. Attend Board of Education meetings or watch here on our web site. Read the Budget reports and documents that are posted on this site. Participate in upcoming PTA/PTO budget meetings. Contact me with ideas and comments.

While we are hammering out next years budget, our teachers and principals continue to focus like lasers on practices that enhance student learning and make school compelling. These outstanding educators set the bar high and our students are responding. Port Chester's K-8 test scores rival districts known for their high performing schools. Our high school has higher retention rates and test scores. Our students win academic and arts competitions and awards, and our seniors are accepted to many highly-ranked colleges and universities. We can all take pride in our schools.
